Costner's six-member band made its public debut in August at the "Field of Dreams" film site in Dyersville, Iowa as part of the 'Netflix Rolling Roadshow' Movie Screening Tour. It has performed concerts in the midwest and south: at the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Tampa Bay, Fla, the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament at The Cliffs in Greensville, S.C., the "Rockin' the Red River" concert in Shreveport, La., and Fuzzy Zoeller's Wolf Challenge golf tournament in Sellersburg, Ind.
In October, Costner and his band will perform at the Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino in Connecticut. "Music is a real expression - an honest interaction," said Costner in a recent interview.
With an acting career spanning more than 35 films and two decades, Costner has directing and producing credits on more than 15 films including "The Postman" and "Open Range." In 1990, Mr. Costner was honored with an Academy Award(R)for Best Director for "Dances with Wolves." Among some of his most popular movies are "The Upside of Anger," "The Untouchables," "The Bodyguard," "JFK," "Bull Durham" and "Field of Dreams.” In August of 2003, he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and on September 6, 2006, Mr. Costner was honored at the Graumans Chinese Theatre with a Hand and Footprints Ceremony where his impressions were added to the famed courtyard.
When interviewed on Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer on September 14, Costner discussed his upcoming release of "The Guardian" and was asked about his recent concert at the Field of Dreams film site. Costner said, "I started off singing in church and musicals and played the piano, so that never left me. There's two guys in the band who were in the first band I was ever in, and actually, when I was about 30, we just started playing and we just put it back together and it’s been a big thing for me to be able to play again. We’ve been playing for about a year, and we play loud and we just don't try to stop the party."
On September 29, his newest release, the well-received "The Guardian" hit theaters. His next film, "Mr. Brooks" is scheduled to be released in early 2007.

All Kiwanis members are unpaid volunteers and 100 percent of the profits raised by the "Fall Fan Fest" will be used to fund the club's Young Children Priority One projects. Past President and event Co-Chair, Linda Allen, met Mr. Costner while attending several of his concerts and was able to bring the club and Mr. Costner together. "I've been fortunate enough to have attended a few of Kevin and his band's performances, and they have an awesome stage presence. You can feel their love of music throughout the whole concert. They obviously put their heart and soul into every song."
Foundation Secretary and Event Co-Chair, Carrie Clevers said, "We are truly thrilled to be able to bring Mr. Costner and his band to San Marcos and southern California. His concerts attract people of all ages - kids to grandparents. We know his fans have been anxious for a west coast concert so we expect a quick sell-out. Our members are deeply grateful that they have decided to help support our efforts for young children with this concert."
