MEGADETH: 'Headbanger's Ball' Special 'Gears Of War' Episode Now Available Online - Nov. 18, 2006
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine will host this weekend's special edition of "Headbanger's Ball" dedicated to the Gears of War game. Shot at Six Flags in Springfield, Massachusetts where gamers gather for a chance to sample video gaming's next big title, the episode will air tonight (Saturday, November 18) at 10:00 p.m. Watch the entire show online — including a complete performance of the new MEGADETH song "Gears of War", shot on October 31 at Six Flags in Springfield, Massachusetts — at this location (scroll down menu on right).
In other news, MTV2 will host an exclusive download of MEGADETH's "Gears of War" demo at this location.
Said Mustaine about the track: "This was a mix made by [British producer] Andy Sneap [NEVERMORE, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, CRADLE OF FILTH] to apply for the job as mixer on this record and I was so impressed I wanted him to help me finish up the last parts as well as cutting two new songs we hadn't planned on releasing. [It was] a great start to one of my favorite records to have ever made so far. If the process of writing and tracking, and the energy we felt in the studios is any indication, then this is just the beginning of the rebuilding of the perfect beast!"
"United Abominations" is tentatively scheduled for release in March 2007 via Roadrunner Records. The CD will include a cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Out on the Tiles", which MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has previously described as one of the album's highlights. "It could be the best song," he said. "I think it rocks!"
